• SEEDBED PREPARATION

The seedbeds preparation started 28/08/2020 total of 20 seedbeds ( 10 convectional seedbeds and 10 reset seedbeds)were prepared until 2/09/2020. The size of one seedbed is 30m², length is 20m and the width is 1.5m distance between one seedbed to another is 0.5m.

• FERTILIZER APPLICATION

Tobacco NPK 10:18:24 were applied on the seedbeds. Each seedbed 5kg of NPK fertilizer were applied on the 30m² (20m length and 1.5m width) seedbed. The seedbed was divided into five portions, each portion was treated with 1kg of the fertilizer making 5kg on the whole seedbed in order to have evenly distribution of fertilizer on the seedbed.

• SEED SOWING

15 tobacco seed varieties were sown in 03/09/2020.The tobacco varieties that have been sown are YUNNAN 85, YUNNAN 87, NC 102, NC 297,PVH 2254, PVH 2275, KRK 26R, KRK 75, T68, K326 (BRAZIL), K326 (USA), K326 (TANZANIA), K326 (DDV),PUYA and DFC. Seeds sown in 03/09/2020 by using two methods by using ashes and water.

• IRRIGATION

Irrigation started immediately after sowing. Irrigation scheduled twice a day, in the morning 120L and 100 during evening making total of 220L used to irrigate a single seedbed. The amount of irrigation water applied will decrease soon after seedling emergence to 180L a day (in the morning 90L and during evening 90L)

• SEEDLING EMERGENCE

The first variety to emerge was NC 102 on 09/09/2020 followed by T68, KRK 75, K 326 (DDV)in 10/09/2020 and YUNNAN 85 in11/09/2020.
